Homeschooling... Will you always have the God given right?
Do you take it for granted? Or are you willing to fight?

Very COOL Blog!
I just found this today. It might be old hat to some but I love it!
I ADORE Nourishing Traditions cookbook by Sally Fallon. (Borrowed my neighbors for months... Was really hard to hand it back to her!) I was wanting to make her meatloaf recipe. I pulled out the meat to defrost. Then got online to find the recipe. SO GLAD I did! Main reason I wanted too was I pulled a deer spleen and liver out of the freezer 2 days ago. I am a big believer in eating organ meats. And generally I really like them. But never had a spleen before. (other than in out Standard Process supplements) So I was kinda scared to do it. And the liver even made me feel queasy at the thought.
Soooo I decided to make the meatloaf to hide the goodies in. ;) I LOVE the smell of this baking. It will be made for lunch tomorrow. With a little tweaking due to ingredients I dont have. And I am eating no grains so I am gonna use Quinioa instead. (yes still a starch but what else can I use? That I actually have in the house?) Sounds super to me at least.
We have been eating lots of soups. But without bread and also having a good deal of leftovers... (I had deer stew 6 times THIS week alone) Yeah.... Makes a different food really appealing to me.
Oh... the Blog... http://thenourishingcook.com/2010/05/sally-fallons-meatloaf-recipe/
Well at least a link to the meatloaf recipe! Tomorrow my plan is to make cream cheese! I am excited about that.
Loving my quiet weekend (3 children is way easy! 5 arent a problem but still my job is 1/2 of what it is normally!) But now it is nearing bed time.... icky. Sooo I will be adding a Fontie, Ranny, and a Boy to my bed tonight... And will be wearing my neck knife too. Partly cause I am a dork and partly due to the fact my Man made it for me. <3

The Boy wanted to climb the T-post.
Daddy and 2 girls...
Left for a 3 day weekend. Widdle Willy is finally getting her
Birthday date with Daddy. Sounds like He has big plans that He
is keeping to himself. But He said it will be extra special since it is a mth late.
Big Sister has appts to make this weekend. Which
causes the trip. Praying they have fun. But as they were
pulling away myself was hiding the fact I was yelling for them to stay.
I feel so odd only having 3 children. Will make a run to the
store today easier.

School Days...
Bored but getting it done. ;)
Ran wanted to do a 3rd grade Math lesson.
She was doing pretty good but asked Fontie for help.
I am so glad to see them work together!
Learning how Puppies are born wore The Boy out!
Widdle Willy and Her cursive page.
She says it is hard but she really puts in a good effort.
I am glad to Homeschool my children. Most days are great but a few have been hard.
I am learning what we can each handle as far as school goes. I wouldnt have it any other way. Love my babies!

Future Lineman?
The Boy found his Electrical tape and diddy bag. In a house of a Lineman electrical tape is pretty well all the tape you can find. And the children use it for everything. The Boy was caught in the act of trying to tie up Widdle Willy today. But She is tough and can handle it. ;)
(OOPS! Didn't notice that picture was turned...)

Widdle Willy's Dresses...
Willy turned 5 at the end of November. I made her 3 dresses. My favorite is the pixel like squares. I love the colors! The purple one she is wearing is her favorite. Purple is her favorite color but I figured she'd love the princess castle one the best. So glad I made her them. At this point they are nice unstained, no holes nice dresses! I have banned them to going to church or special things. I am hoping they will stay nice for a long time.

Facebook....
Too much of my time was being spent on FB. So I did a temporary disable of my account. You can find me here posting when I can. And I will be back on FB after the baby comes. I have plenty of sewing and work to do in the mean time and it is just moving too slow. I am focusing on what I need to get done and dropping what I can in order for more 'real life' time.
Have a super day!

Egg Nog
I am a lover Of Eggnog. And I love Alton Brown's recipe. Though I generally use 1 TBS Rum Flavoring instead of the alcohol. Last night I used 1 TBS of Brandy since I had nothing else. It was so yummy! I could live off this stuff in the winter. I also use Honey and at times use part stevia in it.
I really recommend trying this. I do the raw version. Farm fresh eggs and Milk really make the best eggnog ever!

Try it and let me know what you think! Or come on over and I'll make you some!

The Boy and church....
Daddy is a Power Lineman. He was called out last Sunday and missed church (walked in at closing song) So me with 5 children in church I had to do something to keep the Boy busy. I handed him the camera and let him take pictures. He loved it and sat nice and quiet. Nice to have tools in the purse to keep him happy. (and quiet)

Donut dough....
Had a huge want of donuts for about a week! Finally had to give in and make some. So easy. Took a little time but so worth it! Was worth the time and effort for sure. These were cake donuts so they are faster than yeast donuts. Here are pics of making up the dough. More pics coming later. The boy loved the mini donut holes! They disappeared fast with no sugar or chocolate frosting! Finished donut pictures on the way!
