Origami
Daddy taught some of the children some origami this morning. They loved it. I didn't get pictures while he was teaching them. Lilley and Rhyyan did the majority of it. With Malachi, Judah and Wisdom doing their own thing with the paper. But they did it a couple hrs. Then daddy went to nap and these 3 kept at it.
Sunflower
A friend gave us lots of seeds a while back and we finally planted them this year. I don't remember the name. But after this was picked I requested that no more would be picked so we will have seed for next year. They are so pretty!

Storm blowing in. Fawn update.
This is up at the gate. Where I feed and water her. So it is yucky up here. Scooping manure in the morning.
Not much growth. She is supposedly 5 weeks out.
But I looked up her moms photos from her first calving. And I this is 9 days from calving she looked like this:
(Obviously photo by Tabitha O'Melay omelay.blogspot.com ) so maybe we are on track for a October first calving?? Joce wasn't that tight. 5 weeks lots could happen. Or birthing is a bit further out. Time will tell.... Though I might buy another pregnancy test.
I'm so happy with her condition. I think she is beautiful. And reminds me too much of her mother. I accidentally call her Jocelyn all the time. Which makes me way too sad. Jocelyn had a much darker face. *sigh
She is cautious at the storm rolling in.
Wind was getting pretty strong.
Listening to me and the storm. In the photos she looks less wide than I feel she looks. She has always looked smaller in pictures than I thought she does in real life. Ha!
Good Night sweet Fawn!!
Know this wild plant? Looks similar to radish?

Local picnic fair entries winners
Joelle won 2nd place in both the funniest pet and best costumed pet. With her quail.
Rhyyan got first place in cut flowers. Marigolds.
Tubby got second in his pickled okra. And yes he did all the work minus removing it from the canner.
Chili peppers in 2nd place. White pumpkin and spaghetti squash in third.
Lilleys winnings.
Naomi needed included in these photos. My baby is growing too much!
Peaches got first. Beet greens got 2nd. First on the marigolds. Second on the knit (loom) hat. Second on the white pumpkin. Up close on her photos below. They had a note on on that didn't place that she had a eye for photography but needed to invest in real matting supplies. I am fully ignorant to photography stuff. So they are going to need to do some research before next year.
Wisdom canned these tomatoes on her own! (Minus the blanching. But she peeled cut and canned them! Pretty good for a 4 year old!)
It was a great year. Lots of money made. With plans for next year as well.
(Judah was going to make mint jelly but lost all interest after picking the mint. )
