Guitars...

This has been the scene of my living room for the last 2 days. Doug has been teaching Parris a few worship songs on guitar. She is really doing awesomely. She is mostly self taught. So she loves having someone spend time teaching her more. She is super dedicated.
Doug had a bible study called revolution. Way back in history. I was the very first girl to attend. And met Patrick there. Not love at first sight though. He thought I was 12. :P I thought he'd be perfect for my friend. Tried to get them to meet. But failed. Which worked out in my favor. ;)
This is the first time he has really met the last few children. We both had moved away from our home town. But us Roehrmans really like Doug. He is super fun to make fun of. And our children are good at it. Right now Lilley has hide his car keys. He doesn't know it yet though. He knows something is up though. She keeps laughing at him. ;)
Poor Doug. The stories we could tell. And do. Our children have laughed so hard at him. He even milked our cow. Kinda. At least he tried. ;)

Moon...

I I spent the bulk of my day making lots of candles. With house work and yard work sprinkled in too. Made the boys a 'work shop' area in the shop. Had too for a few reasons. 1: they need man work. 2: the soap and candle room is in the shop. And obviously so is Patrick's knife making. If we left them to keep busy indoors... Well no thanks... They love their shop. Judah's birthday is in a couple days. So again I am thankful for amazon prime. I am queen of last minute.  Got him a Stanley tool set, bible and bible cover. And it will be here with time to spare. Almost counts as thinking ahead. I think...
Their workshop is my theme. Hoping to give them all they need to keep busy and near us during work hrs. I am generally only in the soap room a hr, maybe 2. A day. But today I had several candles to make to fill orders. We are selling more than ever of them. And all sales are up. Which is so encouraging. I ordered several supplies today. Including business cards. Been out for a super long time. But was forgetting to order them. Working hard on new additions to the store. Which is exciting to me. Been wanting to grow it for a long time but had a hard time getting it done.
Good health goes a very long way. I hope to never ever take it for granted again. Our God is merciful and kind. I am thankful.
The moon was a beauty tonight. But iPads aren't the greatest cameras.. I did try though.
Maybe you saw it in real life. The moon is my favorite thing in nature. For sure.

Goodnight.

Blueberry muffins

Parris and Lilley made blueberry muffins today.
They are one of Daddy's very favorites. :) not often do they team up to do a project so this is extra fun.

Marshmellows!

This silly girl had been wanting to make marshmellows since she had seen snowflake ones in the Williams Sonoma catalog last mth. I had told her I'd help but in the end she was ready and was heading to bed. Making candy scares me. A lot. I don't follow recipes. I don't have the patience for it.
So I gave her permission to make them. And ran ( did I tell you candy making scares me?) to bed. She is 9. And mostly taught herself how to read. Guess how. She has a sweet tooth. Yep. She likes yummy stuff. So she learned to read recipes. She did great! Light fluffy beautiful. Beef gelatin. And honey. Almost good for you. And they had flavor. Highly unlike commercial marshmellows.
She is 9. I once babysat a 6th grade boy. He had told me he was taking home ec at school. I asked what he was learning. He said that so far they had made PB and jelly sandwiches.  And macaroni and cheese. The Mac and cheese gave me hope. I thought maybe just maybe it was from scratch. And that the sandwiches were just a snack. NOPE. It was Kraft. Powder cheesish stuff....
And that was yesterday.  It was almost 15 years ago. I wonder what they teach now days...
But I can't say I taught rhyyan about marshmellows. I did though give her a love of learning and a kitchen....

Sleeping Wizzy.

Cutest bundle of wisdom in the world

Pancakes!

Joelle and Malachi made and decorate pancakes yesterday. :)
They both love the kitchen.

Evening entertainment.

Joelle found this puzzle and loved it. So we got to try out. It was hard. I like jigsaw puzzles. It was fun the first half hour. Then I kinda found something else to do. But it was great project for just Patrick and I to do with her. Both parents and 1 child is more rare than I'd like it to be. It was nice. I hope to do it again soon. But no more of these puzzles. ;) UNO or something instead.
