Hand spun
My dear sweet friend,Noelle, gave me a beautiful birthday gift. Several skeins of hand spun wool were in the project bag she made me. I loved it! It seemed delicate so I doubled it, pulling from the outside and the center. But now I'm not so sure it needed to be doubled. But I am keeping it this way instead. Thicker and warmer. I want a few more little blankets for the children in the living room. I also like lap blankets. So that is my plan with this. A simple blanket. I love the color. A pinkish purple. With tiny bits of yellow. And a whitish stripe at times. Random times. Whenever I feel like it.
I haven't been knitting or crocheting much. My shoulder is a mess. And really is not fun. Hard to milk. Hard to hold things in my right hand. I need to find a reason and heal it. But for now I tend to use it til it is unbearable. Then rest it long enough I can again tolerate it. I used to see a friend to massage it. But I would much rather spend my money on other things right now. Silly. Maybe.
Right now it is tolerable except at night when it is worn out and I am trying to be comfortable in bed. So I am pushing it to see if I can crochet this. If that works I only have 5-7 started projects I can finish...

Chicken milk
We have one fridge. We often lack space in it. I call it the fridge dance. We drink lots of milk. Make lots of pudding. And then we skim a jar a day and let it clabber for the chickens. Saves us a little on feed. And gives them great health. They love it. We let it clabber so it is less wasted by them. Good bacteria gets to grow in it too.
Most people know I eat odd things. I love love love sushi with raw fish or roe. I totally adore organ meats.and chicken foot broth. The best broth ever. If you have eaten at my house and are not a vegan (hello mother!) you have eaten CF broth. And likely several different organs.
And I have made awesome 'dippy cheeses' (we call them dippy since we eat it with veggies and chips. ) from clabbered milk. But generally it just goes out to the chickens.
Jocelyn (our queen jersey cow) loves the chickens I'm certain. And is only happy to share. ;)
A new family photo.
Sac Osage overlook. It was beautiful! A tiny tiny hike down the hill to this spot was fun. Breath taking.
Breath taking for a couple reasons.
1: Gods beautiful creation.
2: Judah kept wanting to scale the walls....
Do you see this? 7 children. Crazy. Awesomely crazy. Always wanted a large family. Never thought I would get it though. Thank you Jesus! They are wonderful. I love the Lords blessings!
A partial digging...
This is part of our 5 gallons of potatoes the girls picked up today. They started to get taters from one of our beds. We have 5. This one was only half picked from the straw. Not yet even dug. Looking promising. We like potatoes. A lot. But these aren't good keepers. Might can some up in broth. Depends how many we get.
But I was impressed and thankful! Our Lord is good. And I love farming taters. Despite our first year of potato bugs. (Hand picking is so gross and not fun...) he still blessed us.
